CLEANER SNACK GUIDE

This is part 2 of our Summer Series where we are offering short tips to help you eat better and feel better with easy ways to eat clean.

I get questions all the time about snacks - what is “ok” to snack on or just for ideas for “healthier” snacks in a world overcrowded with ultra-processed junk (not food).

First thing is first - if you eat three full, balanced meals, the need to snack will likely disappear, trust me.  I rarely snack between my meals because my meals are so full (protein+fiber+fat is the magic formula for telling your body it is full and keeping you satisfied).  But on those days when I don’t have time for a balanced meal, this is what I grab:

1st: fruits, vegetables - anything natural and, often, I am dipping my veg in hummus or my fruit in almond butter.

2nd: minimally processed foods like nuts, seeds, trail mixes, etc (Trader Joe’s has great portioned out bags of nuts, etc).

3rd: last option, something ultra-processed -  things like protein bars (still haven’t found one I really like), snack bars (like AllDay bars), my favoritve crackers (topseedz, mary’s), or chips and salsa (huge fan of Siete chips AND salsas).

To make all of this extra simple, I created this guide (pictured below) with links to a few of the things you can buy directly on Amazon (no paid partnerships here).

I hope this helps! And if you need more guidance on how to eat clean, make sure you check out our Health Coaching - we would love to guide you!
